With an efficient surgical team and careful patient selection criteria, single and multilevel cervical artificial disc replacement procedures are safe to perform in ASCs, according to a study authored by three renowned spine surgeons.
Todd Lanman, MD, Jason Cuellar, MD, PhD, and Alexandre Rasouli, MD, served as the principal investigators in the study, which was published Nov. 7 in Spine.
They analyzed 147 patients who underwent 231 consecutive cervical artificial disc replacement surgeries in ASCs over a nine-month period, including multilevel and revision procedures.
